Over dit evenement
🌿 What to Expect
2 hours of simple, guided exercises to connect with nature through your senses.
You’ll get clear instructions, gentle guidance, and space to share or stay quiet—whatever feels comfortable for you.
While most of the guidance is sensory, there will be a moment to reflect on our individual and collective queer grief, and make room for it.
We’ll meet at 16:00 at the park entrance (link to be added). From there, we’ll walk together to the spot where our circle and other activities will take place.
By 18:00, we’ll be back at the entrance where we started.
🌈 Why Join?
Because nature is the best! And so are queers! And so is community!
Spending time in nature supports health and wellbeing — it helps us relax, recharge, and feel more connected to ourselves and others.
Our grief needs a moment also.
You’ll meet new queers or spend time with familiar faces, all while surrounded by trees and fresh air.
Also, you will help out a fellow queer with their research on public spaces by filling out a 13 min survey after the event. Pretty please!
🚫 What This Is Not
Not nature therapy — it’s a nature connection activity.
Not a herbal medicine walk.
Not a ritual.
Not a scientific experiment - so even if you fill out a survey at the end, you are NOT being observed or studied during the event!
💚 Cost
It is for free, but I would really appreciate it if, in return, you could take 12 minutes to fill out an online survey, for my Master thesis in Psychology.
🌾 Who Is This For?
Queer only
Queer folks who love nature — or who want to explore what it’s like to be more present and connected in nature.
To help create a safe-enough space, all participants will be asked to fill out a short form in advance (about mobility, allergies, or anything else you’d like me to know as your guide).
If you cannot make it, please cancel in advance, so that someone else can take your spot.
🎒 What to Bring
Sturdy shoes
Rainproof clothes and/or an umbrella
Water, tea, or a small snack to share
Extra layer of clothing in case it gets chilly
(The event will take place even if it rains)
🕵️ Who Is Organising this?
Touch Grass is a nature connection initiative in Amsterdam for queer communities. It runs guided outdoor sessions in urban parks and nature reserves, where people slow down, tune into their senses, and connect with nature and with each other. It draws on queer ecology and forest therapy, and nurtures awe and softness.
Noa is a nature connection guide and a counseling therapist in training (finishing their MA as we speak, with your help). They spent 15 years in activism and they are now spending most of their time either touching grass, or bringing people together to touch grass. Solidarity, community and simplicity are at the core of their work. They always appreciate a dad joke and a crunchy snack.
