Over dit evenement
What if, instead of trying to fix what is difficult, we learned to meet it with care?
In this creative workshop, we will explore compassion through textiles, thread and fabric. Using
tactile materials, you will give form to something within you that may be struggling, tender or in
need of care, and explore what it means to respond to it with gentleness.
Through folding, wrapping, stitching, connecting and holding, we will explore the difference
between fixing something and caring for it.
The workshop offers a quiet space to pause, create and reflect on how we relate to ourselves
when things are difficult.
What we'll explore:
● How we respond to our own struggles and imperfections
● The difference between compassion, pity and fixing
● What it means to offer ourselves care without needing to change who we are
● How creativity and touch can help us experience compassion rather than simply think
about it
What to expect

Meet the facilitators:
<3 I’m Pamela. A visual designer and illustrator by profession, and an (art) maker by
heart. I believe that we are all here to create — and that everyone is creative. Creativity
isn’t reserved for artists; it is a natural way of making sense of the world, expressing
what words sometimes cannot, and imagining what could be.
Since I can remember, creative expression has been the way I processed my emotions
and navigated the challenges I had to endure. Through art, I could dream of a better
future, imagine possibilities, and keep myself grounded. I didn’t know it then, but this
seemingly simple habit became an important part of how I cared for myself and stayed
mentally grounded.
To this day, creative expression remains my go-to in my pursuit of healing and joy.
Creating something — anything — can be a powerful form of self-discovery and, for me,
one of the best kinds of therapy there is.
<3 My name is Halima, with African and Arabian roots, freedom has always been an
important value and an inner compass in my life. Always drawn to learning, exploring
and discovering new ways of seeing the world. Along the way, I had the privilege of
calling many beautiful places home. Living across different countries and cultures has
taught me to appreciate the many ways people experience life, connect with each other,
and make sense of the world. This too has shaped me into the person I am today.
Creativity and movement are also an important part of how I work with my therapy and
coaching clients. I aim to create a safe, open space where people can reconnect with
themselves, move at their own pace, and gently find their way from feeling
overwhelmed towards greater balance, freedom, and self-regulation.
