The Art of Fans with Nixie Flow

- Open Level Intensive - 3 Hours

Join Nixie Flow for an all levels Flow Arts workshop where we’ll explore in depth the magic of fan flow. 🪭 🪭

The event will be organised in two parts:

PART ONE

• Somatic Movement Warmup / Stretch
• Fan Basics & Terminology
• Grip Technique
• Basic Footwork
• The Flow Grid (Lines & Shapes)
• Fan Shapes & Exploration

PART TWO

• A variety of unique & challenging fan movement concepts (Folding / Palm Flips / Glides / Antispin / Box tech & tutting, Reels & more!)
• How to embody the simpler movements & beautify them (Level changes, breathe, emotion, physical texture)
• We will learn a short but powerful CHOREO sequence at the end !

There will be a limited number of practice fans available for use in the workshop. First come first serve.

Please bring:

• A pair of fans if you have them
• A water bottle
• Comfortable clothes for movement


ABOUT THE TEACHER:

Nixie is a self-taught multi prop fire and flow artist — specialising in tech fans, double palm torches, staffs & so much more!

She has shared her offerings & passion for flow arts & dance at festivals, cabarets, & events around the world. 🌎 This movement art form has been a pivotal aspect of Nixie’s personal trauma healing journey, and she believes in sharing the power of self expression with others.
