About this event

In this course we will work to expand our vocabulary for expressing and embodying ourselves and our emotions in dance and movement. Our exercises will provide you with a toolbox to take with you for any moments when it may be helpful or joyful to use your body to come closer to yourself. We practice the resonance of body, mind, and the world through which they move as one interconnected system.

In these movement exercises, we create frames that invite you to break familiar patterns. These patterns in how we dance and move namely reflect how we behave, act and think in patterns as well. And these types of patterns can lie at the foot of many of our problems. But in order to break a pattern, we must first become aware of it. By restraining how we can move, we become aware of how we habitually want to move, and re-assess if these patterns are still helping us.

In the third session we will bring the fire to our dance. We will face our own shame-barrier, failure and insecurity, and use anger to move past these limitations and to protect our boundaries. We work with the body to control our anger, so that it doesn't control us.
