Over dit evenement
Looking for a conscious alternative for your Kings's Day celebrations? Playfight with Ecstatic Dance Sunday is back with a special live music treat!
We will start warming up our bodies and our ability to relate with each other without words with an intro to Playfight that is open to all ages and physical abilities (we will touch though, so you need to be open to that). We will then have a light potluck meal together, before transitioning into a semi-guided dance journey where you can move between expressing yourself on your own or together. What connects the two practices? They are both embodied, non-verbal, and extremely empowering!
Our Schedule:
12:30 Walk-In
13-16:00 Playfight Workshop
open to beginners
16-17:00 “High Tea” Potluck Meal
17-19:30 Ecstatic Dance
semi-guided dance journey
19:30 Cuddling and Live Music
About us:
For Elena, Playfight is about connecting with ourselves and each other from an authentic place. She creates a space where your vulnerability, your rawness, and your power are welcome to come out to play. Playfight challenges the usual winner-loser dynamic of adult games, injecting lightness into competition and personal transformation into play in a non-sexual way. You don't need previous experience, just your body and an open mind.
For Paul, ecstatic dance is about movement, to stop the racing mind and tap into the impulses and wisdom of the body. His music can take you anywhere, from Arabic Disco to mystical Indian tunes, from African Amapiano to Latin Cumbia, Carribean Shatta or London garage and breakbeat to soothing ambient. Inviting you to feel, to move, to laugh and connect to yourself and each other.
Practicals:
Bring a dish for 2 to share in a big co-created buffet (extra points if you make it from scratch!), a change of clothes and layers in case you get cold in down time. If you wish to join for only part of the day please email us here so we can arrange the door to be opened.
Location:
Common Ground is a nourishing space for embodied practices on the second floor of Het Blauwe Huis on Zeeburgerdijk.
Free parking around the location!
If you cannot afford the contributions we ask please do reach out so we can find a strategy that works for both.
