LIMINAL: Framing Desire - Photography techniques for rope bondage

A fun and hands-on photography workshop for people who enjoy rope bondage. We will dive into the various aspects of creating a scene with your partner and how to approach this using a camera. Based on examples from Bonne’s own practice, as well as other photographers, we will explore the basics of direction, composition, lighting, and editing. Guided exercises provide possibilities for experimentation and allow you to figure out what you are looking for in a picture. Searena will share her insights in modelling dynamics for a balanced overview on creating a photograph as a joint effort.

The focus of this workshop will be on accessible techniques and technology: You can bring any type of digital camera you know how to use, including your phone. To keep our focus, we ask you to leave your analogue or polaroid at home.

Since we explore the dynamic between photographer and model, this workshop is for couples only (switching is possible). You and your partner must be familiar with basic ties for floor work, as a minimum requirement. Familiarity with semi-suspension is not mandatory but will allow you to get more out of this workshop. However, the focus of this workshop is photography. If you want to level up your photography skills, this workshop is for you!

About the workshop teachers

BonneCorde is a rope top based in Amsterdam. He brings a professional background in photography to rope, his much-loved hobby. Over the years, he has learned rope bondage from various teachers, which is reflected in his diverse and creative approach that won’t limit itself to a single style. He loves playful, intense, and sadistic rope play based on trusted and loving dynamics. While his scenes are often raw, torturous, and explicit, his photographic approach is clean, well-lit, and focused to invite viewers into a scene.

Searena has been exploring sexuality and kink for a few years. Amongst other things, she loves playing with exposure and vulnerability and brings her personal observations on bottoming in front of the camera, both in and out of ropes.

What to bring?

- A digital camera you know how to use (any type, phones are welcome too)
- If you don’t use your phone: A laptop/tablet for basic editing with your preferred software
- Six lengths of 7-8 meter rope and some shorter lengths
- One or two outfits you would like to be photographed in
- A piece of cloth, tenugui, or blind fold

- Tickets cancelled a month in advance or before can always be refunded completely minus 7,50 admin costs.
- Till 3 weeks in advance you can opt for a refund with 25% cancelation fee plus 7,50 admin costs.
- You can also choose to sell your tickets to someone else (for buying price or lower) however the sell needs to be approved by us, so please send us a message before you sell it. This can be done latest on 24h before the start of the event.
