𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (60 min)
This 60-minute floorwork class focuses on developing strength, flow, and spatial awareness through movement close to the floor. You’ll explore how to move with gravity, momentum, and release — building the physical understanding that forms the basis for contact improvisation, though we won’t be doing contact work in this class. But we will work on many elements that will improve your CI skills.
The class is beginner to intermediate level: suitable for newcomers, yet physically challenging. Expect a light acrobatic element, continuous movement, and smooth transitions. The practice is grounding — it invites you to land in your body, connect with the floor, and find ease and presence through movement.
Note: This class will be on Wednesday 26th of November, Wednesday 3rd of December
and Thursday 11th, and 18th of December

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely: long sleeves, long pants and socks are recommended, as we often slide and roll on the floor. Knee pads can be helpful. Avoid your most delicate clothes — floorwork can be a little tough on fabric — and it’s best to tie up long hair.
Limited to 12 participants.
Instructor: David Middendorp
David trained at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and later at Codarts in Rotterdam, with a study period at The Juilliard School in New York. He danced with Introdans, Saarländisches Staatsballett, and Ballet Theater Munich before founding his own company, Another Kind of Blue.
Known for combining dance and technology, his work explores the dialogue between body and innovation. In pieces like Flyland, his choreography makes strong use of floor technique, merging grounded movement with fluid transitions and dynamic flow. In this warm-up, David shares the same physical approach — connecting strength, softness, and awareness through movement close to the floor.
